Title: Telepractice in Private Practice and University Clinics for Adults with Neurological Disorders

Description: This session will describe the implementation of telepractice in the treatment of adults with aphasia, traumatic braininjury (TBI) and Parkinson’s disease (PD). The focus will be on the establishment of successful and sustainable telepractice programs in private practice and university clinic settings. Published outcome data will be reviewed supporting implementation of telepractice delivery of speech treatment for these populations and in these settings. A range of scenarios from successful US and international private and university clinics will be presented detailing considerations such as equipment, recruitment, challenges, solutions and reimbursement. Use of telepractice for screening, assessment and maintenance will be described. Special emphasis will be placed on sustainability of telepractice delivery of speech treatment for adult neurological populations.
