Yes, you CAN make a difference: Integrating LSVT BIG and LSVT LOUD to address the complex needs of people with Lewy body dementia

Lewy body dementia (LBD) is the second most common cause of progressive dementia, impacting an estimated 1.4 million people in the United States. Despite the condition’s prevalence, LBD is the most often misdiagnosed type of dementia, and is misunderstood by many clinicians. A recent survey by the Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA) of people with LBD and care partners found that despite interest in rehabilitation services, most people do not receive access to rehabilitation services during their journey with LBD. It’s time to change that.    To honor Lewy body dementia Awareness Month this October, Join LSVT Global for this special collaborative webinar with the Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA). Following an overview, we will be joined by a panel of true experts – those living with LBD – to learn how they have benefitted from LSVT BIG® and LSVT LOUD®.   During this special one-hour webinar learners can expect to be able to:  Define Lewy body dementia (LBD) and understand how it is like and unlike other common neurodegenerative diseases, like Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.  Outline the role of PT, OT and SLP in supporting symptom management, safety, and quality of life for people with LBD.  Clarify how LSVT BIG and LSVT LOUD
