Lewy body dementia (LBD) is the second most common cause of progressive dementia, impacting an estimated 1.4 million people in the United States. Despite the condition’s prevalence, LBD is the most often misdiagnosed type of dementia, and is misunderstood by many clinicians. A recent survey by the Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA) of people with LBD and care partners found that despite interest in rehabilitation services, most people do not receive access to rehabilitation services during their journey with LBD.
