Working Group Presentations

Pre-congress events July 4, 2023

LSVT Global team members Angela Halpern and Cynthia Fox have been active committee members for the last 3 years in two WPC Working Groups. We will be joining our colleagues to share the results of the international committee members’ efforts in a series of presentations.

Working Group: Building Global Alliances Working Group

Join us to learn about two internationally collaborative pilot programs: mentor/mentee and multidisciplinary model of care. We invite you to participate in the discussion of how to replicate these programs in your community.

Time: July 4th 1:30-2:30 pm

Are you interested in global relationships designed to enable more equitable access to information and resources for people with Parkinson’s and their families? If yes, please come to the presentation by the Building Global Alliance group. Learn about our pilot mentor/mentee program, other ongoing initiatives, and how you can participate. Our presentation will be participative in format to give you the opportunity to get your questions answered and offer opportunities for discussion regarding how to implement mentor/mentee programs in your community.

Time: July 2:45-3:30 pm

Low and middle income countries (LMICs) across the world face similar challenges regarding access to PD information, resources, medication, treatment, services, and care. Join this discussion to hear about our findings from a pilot project to replicate a multidisciplinary model of care developed in India by PDMDS to the Kenyan context. In demonstrating the evolution, transferability, and adaptability of the model, which we hope can be used in other communities across LMICs globally to provide care and support for people with PD and their caregivers. The goal of the discussion is to look at lessons learned and explore further possibilities for collaboration.

Working Group: Technology and Parkinson’s

Time: July 3:45-4:45 pm
