What do you do? / Womit beschäftigst Du Dich?
I am a physiotherapist and deputy director of physiotherapy in a Parkinson’s (PD) specialist clinic in Munich, Germany. The interdisciplinary work supporting our patients over long periods of time brings new challenges every day to routine practice.
I am also one of the LSVT BIG Faculty, training physiotherapists and occupational therapists in Europe who speak German.

Ich bin Physiotherapeutin und stellvertretende Leitung in einer Parkinsonfachklinik in München. Das interdisziplinäre Arbeiten und die Begleitung unserer Patienten über lange Zeiträume hinweg verbindet für mich Routine mit tagtäglich neuen Herausforderungen!
Ich bin auch eine der LSVT Lehrenden, die deutschsprachige Physio- und Ergotherapeuten in Europa ausbilden.
How long have you been practicing LSVT BIG and how long have you been with LSVT Global? / Seit wann übst Du LSVT BIG aus? Wie lange sind Sie schon bei LSVT Global?
In 2007, I had the opportunity to participate in a LSVT BIG® Training and Certification Course in New York, an experience that would change my professional life permanently.
Going into this course, I had a lot of hopes. Specific, evidence-based physiotherapy for people with Parkinson’s, especially for the early stages of PD, was rare in Germany at that time. Before I was certified in LSVT BIG, I was not confident that the therapy I was providing was helping patients to achieve their full potential or preserving their function and independence. That changed now!
In 2011, LSVT GLOBAL authorized four German speaking colleagues and myself as LSVT BIG faculty to conduct LSVT BIG Training and Certification Courses in German-speaking countries. A real chance for us to advance evidence-based physiotherapy and occupational therapy for PD in Germany and Europe!

Bereits 2007 hatte ich die Gelegenheit an einem LSVT BIG Kurs teilzunehmen, und dies in New York!!
Eine Erfahrung, die mein berufliches Leben nachhaltig verändern sollte. Ich erhoffte mir von diesem Kurs viel, denn spezifische, evidenzbasierte Physiotherapie für Parkinsonpatienten, besonders für die frühen Stadien, war in Deutschland damals wenig implementiert.
So konnte ich oft nicht sicher beurteilen, ob das, was ich mit den Patienten trainierte, zielführend am motorischen Potential der Patienten ausgerichtet und für den Erhalt der motorischen Selbständigkeit förderlich war. Das änderte sich nun!
2011 autorisierte LSVTGLOBAL vier Kolleg*innen und mich als deutschsprachiges LSVT BIG Lehrer Team um LSVT BIG Kurse auch im deutschsprachigen Raum durchführen zu können. Eine wirkliche Chance für uns die motorische Therapie bei Parkinson in Deutschland voranbringen zu können!!
What is your favorite part about teaching LSVT BIG to other therapists? / Was gefällt Ihnen am besten daran, anderen Therapeuten LSVT BIG beizubringen?
I have been teaching for over twenty years in the field of evidence-based physical therapy for chronic neurological conditions. What I value most about the LSVT BIG Training and Certification Courses is that it brings together the motor therapies of physical therapy and occupational therapy into the field of PD and makes the knowledge available to multiple professions.

Ich unterrichte seit gut 20 Jahren auf dem Feld der evidenzbasierten Physiotherapie bei Erkrankungen der chronischen Neurologie. An den LSVT BIG Zertifizierungskursen wertschätze ich besonders, dass es die motorischen Therapien Physio- und Ergotherapie im Feld Parkinson zusammen ausbildet und das Wissen über mehrere Berufsgruppen nutzbar macht.
What would you like to tell us about yourself? / Was möchtest Du uns über Dich erzählen?
I have been a physiotherapist for over thirty years, have practiced Tai Chi Chuan for twenty years, live in Munich, love outdoor activities and classical music and, would you believe it, I also love relaxing, preferably with someone!
