LSVT Global Team Member Spotlight! Elizabeth Peterson, M.A., CCC-SLP

Elizabeth Peterson, LSVT LOUD Course Faculty, Webinar Coordinator and Clinical Researcher

What do you do?:

I am an LSVT LOUD Faculty Instructor in addition to my roles as webinar manager and clinical researcher. I feel fortunate that my job has allowed me to train many talented SLPs around the world in the LSVT LOUD protocol. I also manage and present at our monthly webinars, with our professional series available to LSVT LOUD and LSVT BIG Certified Clinicians, and our public series available to anyone interested in learning more about different aspects of Parkinson’s disease (PD) and/or the LSVT treatment protocols. These webinars were launched in 2012 and have continued to grow and improve with each year. Across all three series, we have over 150 webinars currently available for On-Demand viewing! Lastly, as a clinical researcher I have worked on various projects investigating the impact of LSVT LOUD on voice and speech in individuals with PD.

How long have you been with LSVT Global?:

I began working at LSVT Global in 2010. It is hard to believe it has been nearly 10 years!

What is your favorite part of your job?:

That is a tough question! I think I’ll have to go with two favorite parts. First, I enjoy being part of such a brilliant, caring, and driven team of people who are committed to the mission of improving the lives of individuals with PD and other neurological disorders. I am part of a team of colleagues who I am also lucky enough to call my dear friends! Additionally, I take great pride in the improvements that I’ve seen in individuals who have received LSVT LOUD. I still get emotional when I read testimonials or see pre- and post-treatment videos and hear about the profound effect that LSVT LOUD has made on a person’s life.

Tell us a little about yourself:

When not working I am usually chasing around my three small children, Adelaide (6), Leo (4), and brand-new Oliver (1 month). My husband, Shawn, is an Army lawyer, and we are currently stationed in Germany. We have not been in Germany long but have already been able to experience the ease of travel throughout Europe here. We love exploring new places and have been enjoying the rich culture, history, architecture, food and fun that traveling to European cities brings.

Favorite quote, food, or pastime:

I love sports! I played basketball in college and while I don’t play as much now, I do enjoy coaching our kids and watching them start to develop a love for athletics as well. The NCAA March Madness basketball tournament is probably my favorite time of the year!

“Beth’s commitment to quality while empowering speech clinicians with the skills to deliver LSVT LOUD therapy is impressive. Further, her dedication to the importance of life-long support of these clinicians via the top-notch webinar program that she manages is admirable. She has a true heart and passion for improving the quality of life of people with PD around the world, and this shines through in the excellence she applies to all that does.”
