In the world of Parkinson’s care, LSVT LOUD® – a speech therapy protocol that empowers individuals to reclaim their voices – stands as a gold standard of care. By training people with Parkinson’s to speak louder than feels natural, this evidence-based program helps recalibrate vocal intensity to normal levels. The mantra “Think LOUD” isn’t just about volume; it rewires the brain, sharpens speech clarity, revitalizes facial expressions, and increases confidence in communication.
This transformative therapy took on new meaning when Pip Steers, a dedicated UK LSVT LOUD speech therapist, began working with Ian Grant—a Parkinson’s warrior and music industry veteran. Through LSVT LOUD’s intensive 16-session protocol, Ian rediscovered his voice. But he didn’t stop there. Channeling his restored speech into lyrics, Ian penned “Think LOUD“, an anthem of resilience. With help from musician friends, Leo Sayer & Kindred Spirit, he transformed it into a rallying cry—a song and music video blending emotion with professional artistry to raise awareness and funds for Parkinson’s research.

Yet Ian’s vision grew louder. Teaming with collaborators Paul Mitchell and John Caulcutt and others, they spent more than a year crafting the “Think LOUD 4 Parkinson’s” album—20 tracks anchored by his “Think LOUD” single. This labor of love now echoes across the industry, with legends like The Who’s Pete Townshend donating £20,000 and Ozzy Osbourne, who battles Parkinson’s himself, pledging concert proceeds.
At LSVT Global, we are encouraged by seeing how our science sparked a movement. LSVT LOUD and its sister program LSVT BIG® don’t just improve function—they reignite purpose. Ian’s journey from voice loss to active advocacy embodies our mission: empowering people to live boldly despite Parkinson’s.

This is more than music. It’s proof that when we “Think LOUD”—when we refuse to let disease dim our light—we create ripples of hope. Now, you can amplify those ripples into waves.
