This one-hour webinar will explore how LSVT BIG and LSVT LOUD can serve as practical platforms for interprofessional education (IPE) among physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology students. Interprofessional education occurs when two or more professions learn about, from, and with each other to improve collaboration and outcomes, making it a strong fit for team-based learning around people with neurological diagnoses who often benefit from coordinated PT, OT, and SLP care.
Using Parkinson’s disease and related neurologic presentations as an example, the session will show faculty how shared case-based learning, observation, simulation, lab activities, and coordinated treatment planning built around LSVT BIG and LSVT LOUD can enrich student understanding of collaborative care while also supporting program efforts to demonstrate interprofessional preparation expected within accreditation frameworks and professional standards.
Intended Audience: Anyone involved in SLP, PT, or OT education: students, faculty members, clinical educators, and program administrators
